Many of you may not know that Koka Māja doesn't just offer beautiful lodgings but also a unique opportunity to encounter and explore an entire village - Amatciems, located in the Cēsis region of Latvia. Here, a different atmosphere prevails, as our guests often describe it - a feeling of being somewhere other than Latvia. It's a genuine, unique experience of a secluded village that combines sophisticated architecture, waterfront walking trails, undiscovered forests, and a rhythm of life filled with tranquility.
Amatciems: An Eco-Village and Architectural Marvel!
This place is special, and its story begins with the owner of the village, Aivars Zvirbulis, who had the idea to create a village that harmoniously blends the beauty of the landscape with reverence for nature.
Village's Internal Regulations!
Amatciems has internal regulations that foster harmonious living with neighbors and nature. Here, silence is observed to maintain harmony with the environment. Evenings and nights in the village are tranquil, and making noise is not permitted. These regulations reflect the village's commitment to caring for nature and preserving harmony with the surroundings.
Abundance of Water Bodies!
One unique feature of Amatciems is its abundance of water bodies. Initially, there were only two lakes here - Melnezers and Vēķis. However, presently, there are over 30 water bodies, occupying approximately 30% of the village's land area. This wealth of water not only adds visual beauty but also provides opportunities for water-related activities and relaxation by the water's edge.
Strolls and Freedom!
Within the territory of Amatciems, you can take a stroll at any time. Nature offers numerous walking paths and scenic viewpoints from which you can enjoy the surrounding landscapes and appreciate the beauty of nature. This is a place where you can escape the rush of daily life and immerse yourself in peace and harmony.
